Creating Tiers
Once your payments are set up, you’ll be able to create and manage your tiers from the “Tiers” tab. To create a new tier, click “Create New Tier”
What do I have to have in order to submit my tier?
A window will appear where you can create your tier with the following options:
- Cover Picture (optional)
- Tier Name (required)
- Please note that all tier names need to be unique – you cannot have multiple tiers with the same name.
- Tier Price (required)
- Tier Description (required)
Then, once all of the required fields are filled out, you can save your tier as a draft, choose to cancel if you’ve changed your mind, or publish your tier so that followers can access it. After your tier is published, you’ll also have the ability to edit the tier, unpublish it, or delete it.
Can I edit my tier pricing?
Currently, we allow editing of a tier's pricing only if no one has subscribed to that specific tier. Once a subscriber is present, modifying the price becomes restricted. However, don't worry! To change the price, you can easily create a new tier with the updated pricing.
Can I preview what my tiers will look like to my followers?
Yes! In the Tiers tab, you can select “Preview Tiers” to see what your tiers would look like to your followers once published.
Tiers that are saved as Drafts or that are Published will be visible in the preview, and tiers that are Deleted or Unpublished will not be visible in the preview.
Tiers will be sorted from lowest to highest price, regardless of the order that you submit them in. If your subscription has an image, the image will be displayed along with the tier.
What happens if I save a tier as a draft?
If you choose to hit save as draft, all of the changes you’ve made to the image, title, description, and price will save, and the tier will remain in your dashboard as a draft.
What happens if I unpublish a tier?
When you choose to unpublish a tier, you’ll get a pop-up confirming that you want to unpublish it and hide it from your followers.
Once the tier is unpublished, users not subscribed to that tier will not be able to view the tier on the wall, and users who are subscribed to that tier will continue to see it as their active tier. They will still be charged monthly for this subscription until either they cancel or you decide to delete the tier.
If you have existing users on a tier that you’ve unpublished, you can still add new works to that tier so that those users can get new content. You’ll also still be able to create wall posts specific to that subscription tier.
What happens if I delete a tier?
When you choose to delete a tier, you’ll get a pop-up confirming that you want to delete it. This pop-up will let you know that this is irreversible and will require you to check a box before you can delete the tier.
When a tier is deleted, it will remain in your dashboard as long as at least one person is subscribed to it, but it will not be visible to anyone who was not subscribed to it. Once their subscription has concluded, then it will be permanently removed from your dashboard.
All of your subscribers that are currently on the tier that you’ve deleted will keep their benefits until the most recent payment period is up. Your subscribers will receive a notification that their existing subscription will not renew.
When all of the existing subscribers of that tier have their subscription expire, all references to that subscription tier will no longer be visible to anyone, including people who used to be on that tier.
You cannot publish new stories to a deleted tier, but you will still be able to write wall posts exclusive to that tier until the last subscription on that tier expires.
