On the Discovery Screen, you can find various tabs at the top for easy navigation. We are introducing a new tab called "Fan Fiction" to enhance your content discovery experience.
With the addition of the "Fan Fiction" tab, we have made the top bar scrollable so that you can access all tabs conveniently.
The "Fan Fiction" tab functions similarly to other story tabs.
What is Fan Fiction?
Fan fiction refers to a type of written work where fans of a particular book, movie, TV show, video game, or other form of media create their own stories, using the characters, settings, or elements from the original work. These stories are typically created by fans as a form of creative expression and are shared within fan communities or online platforms.
What are the shelves on the Fan Fiction tab?
Within the "Fan Fiction" tab, you will find a series of shelves designed to help you discover exciting content.
- Recently Updated: This shelf updates once a day at Midnight GMT, and stories on the shelf will shuffle periodically throughout the day to ensure all stories get visibility. To show on this shelf, stories must have a new chapter added within the last 24 hours.
- Recently Completed: This shelf updates once a day at Midnight GMT, and stories on the shelf will shuffle periodically throughout the day to ensure all stories get visibility. To show on this shelf, stories must be marked as complete. Stories will only show if it is the first time they have been marked complete -- updating the status of a story and then marking it as complete again will not re-place it on the shelf.
- Undiscovered Favorites: This shelf updates every 15 minutes and requires stories to have been published within the last two months. Stories on this shelf do not need to be marked as completed.
- Fan Favorites: This shelf updates every 15 minutes and will display the best stories based on your personal age preferences and genre preferences.
- Fandoms: There will be shelves on this tab that show the top 10 fandoms on Inkitt; shelves will show the top 25 Fan Fiction works in each fandom. These shelves will update every 15 minutes.
