We've recently added the ability for authors to promote their subscriptions with coupons offering discounts!
How do I set up a discount?
In the manage subscriptions section, there’s a new tab that reads “Coupons”.
Within that tab, authors can:
- Create new coupons
- Delete coupons
- Copy coupon codes
- View Details of coupons
Can I offer discounts to my existing subscribers?
Coupons are only eligible for new subscriptions. They do not apply to upgrades, downgrades or renewals at this time.
Are discounts a percentage, or are they a flat dollar amount?
It's up to you! In the coupon setup menu, you can choose whether you want to offer a percentage discount, or a fixed dollar amount.
Can I make it so that the coupon is only for the first month of a subscription?
Yes! In the setup menu, you can choose how you want your coupon to be applied.
- Forever means that your coupon will always be applied to all future renewals
- Once means that your coupon will only be applied to the first month of a subscription
- Repeating lets you set how many months you want it to run for (for example, offering 15% off of your first 3 months)
Can I limit the number of times a coupon is used?
There are two options for limiting the uses that your coupon can get. These can be used individually or together.
- Date Range lets you set an expiration date for your coupon, so that it will only be available for a limited time
- Total Number lets you limit how many people are able to redeem your coupon before it stops working
