What does it mean to pause my subscription?
We want to ensure that you Authors have complete control over their subscriptions.
Life happens and sometimes people need to take a break and want to change things up. We wanted to give you the option to pause subscriptions as you see fit to ensure that you can make your subscriptions the best that they can be.
How do I Pause my Subscription?
Great question! You can pause your subscriptions by
- Going to your Author Dashboard
- Go to the Billing tab
- Tap/Click on the “Pause Billing” section
- A pop up will appear asking if you to confirm that you want to pause subscriptions
What Happens After Pausing my Subscription?
After you pause your subscription two things will happen:
- A banner will appear at the top of the “Manage Subscription” page that says your billing has been paused.
- There will also be a “Resume Billing” option on the banner. Tap that “Resume Billing” option and you’ll get a pop-up asking you to confirm that you want to resume billing.
- Your subscribers are notified that you’ve paused your subscriptions
- Subscribers should receive an email as well as an in-app notification letting them know that the subscription has been paused for 30 days
- Subscribers we’ll also receive a notification when subscriptions are re-enabled
How Long Can I Pause Subscriptions?
Currently, subscriptions are only able to be paused in 1 month increments. If you want to extend the pause of your subscriptions you’ll need to log back on and pause your subscription again.
If you want to extend the time that your subscription is paused, you’d need to let the subscription start again and then follow the steps on the “How Do I Pause My Subscription” page
Am I Able to Manage My Subscription Tiers?
Yes! You’ll still be able to add wall posts, add content behind the subscription, and adjust your subscription benefits as you would if your subscription wasn’t paused.
What Happens to My Existing Subscribers?
While your subscription is paused, your current subscribers can still access and interact with the subscriber wall and any of the content associated with the tier they’re subscribed to.
Am I Able to Get New Subscribers While Subscriptions are Paused?
While your subscription ters are still visible on your author wall and in the stories, when a reader goes to subscriber they’ll get a screen that lets them know that you’re not accepting new subscribers at this time.
After Pausing My Subscription, How Long Does it Take to go Into Effect?
Once you’ve confirmed that you want your subscription paused, it can take up to 1 hour for the subscription to be paused. Additionally, once you’ve paused your subscription you have to wait an hour to be able to resume billing.
