What do Inkitt profile icons mean?
We have three Inkitt profile icons that can appear on an Inkitt profile next to the username.
- A verified tick lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic.
- A lightning bolt on an Inkitt profile lets people know that an account of an Inkitt employee is authentic.
- An Inkitt ‘I’ is placed on Inkitt profiles to show that the author is an influential and active member of the Inkitt community, also known as a VIP author.
All profile icons must be applied by the Inkitt team, and accounts that use the icons as part of their profile photos, cover photos or elsewhere are not Inkitt-verified accounts.
How do I get a verified tick on my profile?
Similar to popular social media profiles, an account can be verified if it is determined to of public interest. This includes accounts owned by notable users in literature, politics, business, music, media, journalism and other key areas.
A verified icon is only used to prove that an account of public interest is authentic.
If you are a person of public interest, you can apply for a verified tick by emailing support@inkitt.com and we will determine on a case-by-case basis if your account meets the criteria.
How do I get an Inkitt ‘I’ logo on my profile?
An account can get an Inkitt 'I' symbol if it is determined that the author is eligible for our Inkitt Published Authors program. Such authors are typically previously published by Inkitt, authors on our sister app GALATEA, other highly influential or active authors in Inkitt's community, or if the author has won an Inkitt Writing Contest. Inkitt Published Authors are expected to act as Inkitt ambassadors.
To apply for the Inkitt Published Author badge, please email inkitt.authors@inkitt.com and the team will determine your eligibility.
Why do some Inkitt profiles have lightning bolts?
A lightning bolt on an Inkitt profile lets people know that an account of an Inkitt employee is authentic.
The lightning bolt always appears next to the name on an account's profile. It is always the same color and placed in the same location.
Accounts that don't have the lightning bolt next to their name but display it somewhere else such as their profile photo or cover photo are not members of the Inkitt team.
