Our Influencer Program is the first step for authors to regularly get paid for writing, reach a new audience and get personalized writing advice. Here you can find all frequently asked questions by members of the program related to their influencer royalty earnings.
How does Inkitt calculate my royalty earnings?
Inkitt has created a tiered payment system, in which the author is in a certain tier based on the number of unique readers they have in a month. There is a scale in which the amount an author will receive increases as their number of readers increases.
We have created this system so that there is complete transparency in what the authors are being paid, and authors can plan accordingly based on their earnings, which they will be able to calculate from their affiliate dashboard.
When am I paid?
The Inkitt Reader Royalty Payment cycle is calculated at the end of each month, and paid bi-monthly. As long as you’ve provided us with the relevant payment information asked of you and reached the $10* payment threshold, you will get paid. We’ll issue a payment between the 10th and the 14th of every 3rd month. An example of a payment schedule looks as follows:
February and March Readership > Paid in April
April and May Readership > Paid in June
June and July Readership > Paid in August
August and September Readership > Paid in October
For authors who are paid via Transferwise please allow 5-7 days to receive the funds in your bank account once you have received the payment email and initiated the transfer. Direct bank transfers can also take up to 5 days to arrive in your bank account.
What information of mine does Inkitt need to pay me?
All authors must provide us with the following information in order to be paid:
- full name
- full address (including postal code)
- an email address they check often
If authors do not provide Inkitt with their full name and full address, we unfortunately cannot pay them. This information is needed for invoicing, and Inkitt is required by law to create invoices for all authors we pay.
When the author is invited to join the program, they will receive a form which will ask for all information required.
*Please note for authors who cannot receive Transferwise or PayPal payments due to their location, your payment threshold may rise. You will be informed when you join the program of your individual threshold where necessary.
Is an alternative form of payment available?
Currently Inkitt only offers payments using PayPal, TransferWise and Bank Transfer. We’ll let you know if a new form of payment becomes available for your country.
How can I check my earnings?
The payment you will earn can be easily checked in your affiliate dashboard. At the end of the month, the author can check the amount of unique readers they had and then cross check this with our tiers to see how much they will receive.
Why didn't I get paid this payment cycle?
The majority of influencers in this program will be paid bi-monthly due to our tiered system. The only way in which an author won’t receive payment is if they have less than 1000 unique readers every two months after their first payment cycle while in the program. After this first payment cycle, the author will hopefully increase their readers and move up a tier and receive a higher payment.
Am I paid in USD or my local currency?
For authors who can be paid via Transferwise and bank transfer, you’ll receive your earnings in your local currency. Authors who are paid via PayPal will be paid in USD.
